I like to make my own Muesli so that I can control exactly what goes into it. I guess you could call me a skeptic but I trust very few processed products, instead I prefer to source the best quality wholefoods and prepare my own.
Here’s my muesli that I just made a few moments ago. Use the recipe as a guide use what ingredients you have and create your own – remember not to over do the dried fruit.
Power Punch Muesli
3 Cups Rolled Oats
1 Cup Almonds
½ Cup Sunflower Seeds
½ Cup Pepitas
½ Cup Sesame Seeds
¼ Cup Chia Seeds
½ Cup Ground Flaxseed (Linseed)
½ Cup Goji Berries
½ Cup Sultanas
½ Cup Dried Apricots (Sliced)
11/2 tsp. Cinnamon
Store in an airtight container until needed.
Think about your portion size when tucking into this delicious muesli as a general guide I would recommend 4 desert spoons for a woman and 6 for a man. I like to serve mine with ½ a cup of warmed frozen berries – YUM!!
To spice things up a little, try a bircher style muesli, soak overnight in a little coconut water or your choice of milk and enjoy with grated apple, yoghurt and fresh berries.
